She Has Arrived!!!

Her name is Lila Kate Bontrager and she arrived very early this morning at 12:54 am. She was 7lbs 13 ounces, 21 inches long and she is a very calm, laid back little girl. Very different from her older brother!

Her arrival was a bit unsuspected since we were gearing up for Tina being induced on Monday morning. That was the plan so that Lila didn't get too big for Tina's little frame. But Lila decided it was time late Saturday afternoon and Tina started having some irregular contractions. They were not very strong and by 7:30 we didn't really know if we should call the doctor or not. We did and she called us in and by 9:00 when we arrived at the hospital Tina was 7 or 8 cm dilated. The nurses were a bit concerned that we wouldn't have time to get the epideral for Tina, but there was time to spare since she didn't reach the 10cm goal until about midnight. From there it was about 45 minutes of hard labor before Lila greeted us.

Tina is still in some pain, but will hopefully recover nicely as her body was much more prepared for delivery this time. Assuming all goes well, we are planning to be released to go home onTuesday morning.

We had a few visitors today, including Max who wasn't so sure what this all meant, but he did enjoying "holding" Lila and asked to do it again. He will be a good big brother!

We appreciate all your prayers. Lila is a huge blessing and is such a gorgeous, precious, little addition to our family. We once again feel very fortunate for another one of God's little miracles.
