A Lesson in Patience

All kids are exhausting in their own way. We claim to have three of the most exhausting. Max is exhausting b/c he is non stop. He needs non stop attention, he asks question non stop and wants to be entertained non stop. Bryce is exhausting b/c he is well still just a baby. Lila on the other hand is really in a league of her own. She is the sweetest little girl, but man she can try even my patience. Here's an example of a typical conversation we have.

Me: Lila don't forget to tell mommy when you need to use the potty.
Lila: I don't need to use the potty.
2 seconds later
Lila: I need to use the potty
Me: Ok
Lila: Don't help. I can do it all myself
Me: I wouldn't dream of helping you Lila
Lila: HELP ME unbutton my pants.
Me: Sure Lila.
Lila: DON'T HELP ME!
Me: I won't Lila
We stare at each other
Lila: Go away. I can do it myself
Me: You want privacy.
Lila: Yes
I walk away and 1 second later.
Lila: MOMMY HELP ME
Me: I thought you didn't want mommy's help.
Lila: Yes I do
Me: Ok
Lila: Don't HELP me.
Me: Ok
Lila: Help me put on my pants.
Me: Ok.
Lila: NO NO NO don't help me.

This goes on for a while until hands are washed and clothes are back on. She's already driving Michael crazy and she's only 2...wonder what she'll be like when she's a teenager. :)
