Food Floor

So it's been a while since I've posted...kinda been leaving that to Tina because I just can't keep up with it anymore. By the time I get home from work I want to play with the kids for a couple hours before bed and after they go down it seems I only have energy to zone out for an hour or so in front of the tube.

Anyway, I have nothing fun to report or share, other than my frustration with how messy the kids can make the floor and chairs around our dinner table. I mean, can't I expect my 11-month old to not drop food on the floor? Okay, probably not. So what is the solution? I can't keep spending 30 minutes cleaning the kitchen and dishes every night after dinner. When Max was that age we had Whatley...so clean or not at least there were not crumbs and the floor was not sticky. Now we have no dog and we just can't keep it clean.

Seriously, how do you people with little kids do this? What has worked for you?

Michael, I think you're too much of a neatnick (is that a word?). What do you do, mop the floor and vacuum after every meal? If so, that is WAY to much work! Use a broom and dustpan if you need to and mop once a week.

Just wait til you're grandparents, you'll get to clean up crumbs again!

I'd say... get a dog again. Which would create a whole other set of problems. Or get a cleaning lady.... At least there wouldn't be crumbs once a week or every other week. =o}

Okay...What happened to Whatley? We still have Gabby and she eats anything the kids drop... and other than that, I'm alomsot ashamed to say....I think I have such a problem with cleaning that everytime my kids drop anything these days...they freak out and usually clean it up themselves??? .....I hope I'm not turning my kids into freaks!!!! ...Amanda

Okay Michael,does the name Kate Gosselin ring a bell??? Might as well give up the idea of a perfectly clean kitchen floor for the next oh...15 years or so.

got it. we'll just have sticky floors and chairs for the next several years, unless we know we are having company over.

I was pulling for another dog too, but Tina rattled off about 15 reasons in less than 30 seconds on why that wouldn't be happening right now.

Amanda, Whatley is owned by a co-worker of Tina's and very happy and fat with her 2 other dog siblings. She never adjusted to Max and took a bite at Max's face when he was about 13 months. That sucked. We loved that dog.
