Summer's Here

It's hard to believe this guy is not in Kindergarten any more.  I think about when I first sent him on the bus almost 9 months ago such a nervous little boy.  I'm so excited he has so much more confidence now and had such a good year in kindergarten.  This picture was taken on a day Max got a hair cut with his faux hawk.  Michael and I really like it, but Max does not want to draw attention to himself so he won't wear his hair like that.

This is a really terrible picture of the Kindy 500 but I wanted to include it, so I would remember it.  If you can't tell from the pictures the Kindy 500 is essentially a big wheel 'race'.  The entire school comes out to watch the Kindergarten classes ride around on a track on their big wheels.  The classes are divided up into teams, Max was on the red team and in the lead position.  If you don't know Max very well, you probably don't know how silently competitive he is.  I wonder where he gets that from????  He won't say anything, but he wants to win.  Well in this race, it wasn't really a race. The kids were just supposed to have fun riding around on a track. Not Max.  He wanted to be the fastest. This wasn't about fun. He started out in 4th place and he was just not happy about that, so the first turn he took the inside track as fast as he could passing the three big wheels ahead of him and then ...he flipped his big wheel, crashing.  Fortunately he just got a scrapped up elbow and he was ready to get back on his big wheel and try to make up some ground.  My things have changed.

Lila learned how to ride her bike this Spring.  I think I forgot to post that too.  I'm terrible with the postings lately.    Lila also had her first swim practice this morning.  The coach held on to her pretty much the entire time, but she had fun and she thought she was so big. She did a good job listening, we just need to get her to put her head under the water.  Poor thing it was only 60 degrees outside.  I hope tomorrow is warmer.
And we can't forget about Bryce.  Here he is eating a chocolate doughnut.  He's not very messy at all is he!  He would really prefer his diet consist of only chocolate and peanut butter.  He's got good taste!
