Picking Strawberries

We thought it would be fun to go pick strawberries on Max's birthday. It wasn't really. Bryce didn't get it and so he and Tina weren't even in the field after the first five minutes because he was done. Lila spilled and stepped on the few berries that Tina picked. So we were down to 3 pickers right off the bat.

Lila picked everything in site, white, green, crimson (over-ripe), some red and straw. Her problem is she had to show each one of them to me. Max only picked the most perfect strawberries at a rate of about 1 per minute. Meanwhile, Lila spilled most of his as she showed me hers. In the end, I filled up two containers (pints? quarts? no clue), Lila about half, and Max about 9 strawberries. Lila's looked like this.
In the end I think we had barely one container of decent strawberries of which I ate about half as I cut them up. I think we were a little too late in the season and the selection just wasn't real good anymore.

But we packed a picnic dinner and the ice cream at their shop was a hit for dessert. Bryce found a new trash can and spent most of the evening throwing away stones.
