Some firsts for Bryce

It was time for Bryce to get his first haircut yesterday. We started hearing too many people say "that girl" or "she". Whatever. That happened with Max too. Guess it was the curls in the back that both the boys had. Lila on the other hand has never had a curl. Bryce was a champ though...no crying! And he's looking good now.

Bryce also took a couple steps this evening...accounting for only about 3 inches, but hey it's a start. I guess I can't blame him though; he can almost scoot as fast as Lila can run...so why would he change?

Bryce isn't talking much. Well he jabbers and spits and makes lots of noises. Just not much more than "dah dah dah". And it's not "daddy". But this week he has started saying "uh-oh" in the correct context. It's from a book that we read a lot and the fact that there are plenty of "uh-oh" moments in our house. Usually from Lila spilling something during meals, which she of course now responds with "it's ok, Mommy". Well sure it is sweety, you don't have to clean it up!
Speaking of Lila, she loves Pinkalicious. It's a series of books about a little girl that loves pink and in one book she turned pink from eating too many pink cupcakes. So Lila tried to paint herself pink the other day (supposedly when Tina wasn't paying attention).

Oh and she only wears shirts with butterflies on them now. Still in a crib. Still is one with her disgusting blankey that she drags all over the house. I'm sure that kitchen floor is perfectly clean after 3 meals with numerous "uh-oh" moments. Maybe the smell of strawberry applesauce and spoiled milk makes for comforting dreams. Oh wait, nope, she is waking up on average 2 times a night right now. "What do you need Lila." "I'nt know." "Go back to bed." "No, sing me songs." "Lila, it's 3 in the morning, just close your eyes." "Um...I need go potty." "Fine." 5 minutes later I put her back in bed. "No..I need 2 drinks." "I'll give you one big one and it will be the same as 2 little ones." "NO, I need TWO drinks". "Fine." You get the picture. At least Bryce is sleeping through the night consistently for about a month now.

Max is still enjoying preschool and soccer. He got a taste for real video games this past weekend at the Martin retreat. My cousin Trevor had his Xbox Kinect there and Max had a lot of fun with it. Like anything he observed for a long time before being coaxed into it. Of course he was good at it after studying it for so long. Guess we know what will be in our house within the next year or two. But he still enjoys spending time with his older cousins Josh and Jason and grandpa Albert about as much as anything.

Well Great-Grandma's cookies rank up there as favorite things too...for both Max and Lila. Sorry Bryce, learn how to walk and you can join them.

Lila painting herself is hilarious!
Bryce's haircut looks good and one of these times he'll be talking and won't stop. I loved watching Max at the retreat playing the games. He was so quiet about it, but very intense.

Your post made my day. Glad you weren't too tired to post it last evening.
