Sweet Kid

For all of Max's orneriness, he is really a sweet, thoughtful little boy. We were discussing what he should get Lila for Christmas and we decided on a pretend cake. It might be more for Max than Lila but he's pretty excited to get it for her. So we moved on to what to get Daddy for Christmas. At first he said 'oh i know. We should get him a bed. That way you and daddy don't have to share.' I thought that was so funny, and really not a bad idea considering how many times I get kicked a night. But I told him that daddy liked to share, so I asked him to think of another idea. He said 'Oh I know. We should get him a chair, so he doesn't have to sit on a stool for dinner.' I thought those were both really good ideas for a four year old. Maybe all four year olds are like him but we really think he is such a sweet boy, which also really makes us worried that he is going to be a target for bullies when he gets into school. He is definitely becoming aware of other kids and what they think of him. The other night he asked Michael if he could wear his silly bands to school and if kids would make fun of him for it. Then he told Michael one time that a couple of his classmates made fun of him, and he didn't know why. It just breaks my heart. I guess I am starting to understand why parents home school....I just want to protect my baby for as long as possible!

What a sweet, sensitive little guy! Kids can be so cruel sometimes and as parents about all we can do is support our kids and teach them not to be cruel in return.
