First Day of First Grade
It does not seem possible that Max is already in 1st grade. We had such a fun summer that he was not ready to go back. When he was eating breakfast I asked him how he was feeling. 'SAD' was the response I got. It is just so tough to be a kid. But the first couple of days have been fun and Max said they got 2 recesses and no homework. Too bad that is not going to last.
I made some muffins all the kids could enjoy on the first day of school.
Max seemed in a pretty good mood after the first day, and it was only improved by this in our backyard.
I guess it's kind of hard to see but there were 10 boys playing in our backyard. As you can see we have an abundance of boys around the same age in our neighborhood, and I love it that they would rather ride their bikes than play video games. We had no idea how much some old logs and a broken down swing set could provide so much entertainment for boys!
One person not to happy about the boy to girl ratio 10:1. Lila. She needs more girls!!

When Michael and Melanie were growing up, our yard was the gathering place, too. I wish there were more girls for Lila to play with!
It's hard to believe that Max is a first-grader! I hope he has another good year this year.
