Expecting & on Bed Rest
So this was supposed to be the post that we announce that we are expecting our third baby in January. Happy times....however things aren't working out exactly as planned. This past Monday we decided to go up to Wakarusa. We were having work done in the baby room and my doctor said that it would be best if I was out of the house. The ride up was fine, but about an hour after we got there I started hemorrhaging. I thought that for sure we had lost the baby. I called my doctor and she told me to get to the nearest emergency room. So we went to the hospital. I was absolutely shocked that the ultrasound revealed our baby just hanging out with a strong heartbeat. He really was just hanging out...hands behind his head, feet up. They couldn't find a reason for the bleeding. They told me I was threatening a miscarriage and I was on bed rest until further notice. So we spent a few days up in Wakarusa and came home on Thursday after most of the bleeding had stopped. I went to my doctor's office on Friday to get a shot to help heal. My doctor suspects the bleeding was due to some sort of tear in my uterus or the placenta tearing away from the uterus. I'm not exactly sure. I didn't see my doctor but the nurse made it sound like this isn't that uncommon. I have an ultrasound on Tuesday with my doctor. I am hoping that they will be able to detect the reason for the bleeding and just put me on restrictions, but take me off of bed rest. I don't know what we will do if I have to be on bed rest trying to care for 2 little ones. It's horrible having them cry and reach out to me and not being there for them. Luckily Michael's parents were able to take some time off to care for the kids last week and my mom is taking off next week. We feel very lucky to have family around to help out.
