There were some kids in Max's classroom that had gotten a 24hr stomach bug yesterday and the day before. Tina found that out yesterday when she picked him up. He was acting fine all evening, but we still sort of expected to have some issues during the night. We stupidly stayed up later watching a premier of a show we thought looked good from 10-11. So we went to bed at 11 and before we were even asleep, Max was puking. It was everywhere. All over the sheets, the floor, the crib. And this is no longer baby formula puke which was the only thing we had ever seen him puke to this point. It was full blown, identifiable chunks of food, along with full blown adult vomit smell. I didn't think I could take it. Oh but I became very accustomed to the smell and sites after over 2hours and 8, yes 8, full rounds of vomiting. We went thru 3 sheets, countless towels, and wipes, and Tina got it on 5 different T-shirts. I think Max had about 4 different baths during that time too. We were pretty much pros at catching it during the later rounds of vomit though. It was a really enjoyable night. Max just wanted to sleep, but he didn't really cry through the whole ordeal. I've just never seen someone have that many rounds of vomit. Each round consisted of a 1-2minute exercise of 4 or 5 heaves and there was probably anywhere between 10 and 20 minutes between rounds. It was crazy. At least we learned now though that if the kid is sick, don't try to put him back to bed. Just hold him and take it on your shirt or towel if you can't make it In a cup or bucket. Eventually he fell back asleep that way once all the heaving was over. Anyway I stayed home with him this morning after we slept in a bit. He was perfectly fine. Jumping and crawling all over me and laughing away. He wasn't super hungry but did have some crackers and cheerios and a little lunch, but by lunch time he was so very tired. Tina came home from work then for the afternoon and I went in to work for the rest of the day because I have to do a couple things after hours this evening artwork anyway.
He is getting teeth all over the place now too. He has been biting me a lto lately I think because of that. We have our apt. with the ENT on Tuesday. Hopefully he is a good candidate for tubes. He really is trying to communicate with us lately but we don't have a clue what he is saying. He says "mama" a lot, but has no idea that that means Tina. I think he is trying to say "more?" because he does it a lot during dinner time as he taps his plate or points to something. He also says "Kuh" for Duck when he picks up his duck in the bathtub. "Bah" is about the only other thing he says, and that is for pretty much anything that is round, not necessarily a ball.

poor max! that sounds exactly like how mason was a couple of weeks ago. he kept throwing up over and over, but was perfectly fine the next day. it was so strange.
Oh the things parents go through when their sweet offspring are spewing forth the most vile substance known to man. One time at Marie's 1st grade open house Trevor puked right down the back of my shirt. The smell and sight cleared out the classrom in record time. The teacher said it was the shortest open house she ever experienced. She thanked us, which was kind of weird. Jeff
Jeff and Amy even get to experience full blown puke with other peoples kids! I won't mention any names (kristy) but I remember the first time WE were with her when that happened. We were trying to catch her puke in an empty coffee can. I thought I was gonna puke, but Devon said "what are you gagging for? I've got it in my mustache!!!"
The next morning... the little peanut wondered "what was that think I did with my mouth last night?"
Yes, our family has some of the grossest stories! Judy
