Father and Son Day

I forgot to mention in my last post that Max and I are spending the whole day together on Monday. It is Columbus Day and our daycare is closed so that they can have a professional development day where there teachers get additional training. So I am taking the day off.

Really though I have a bunch of work that I still need to get done before the weekend is over so that I don't feel too bad about taking a vacation day tomorrow...and this post is just procrastination (as is the good football game on right now). Speaking of football, Max is a huge fan. He doesn't pay much attention to the TV if it is on, but when football is on, he is glued to it. In fact he had his buddy Will over the other day to watch the game. They both got dressed up and were pretty into the game as you can see from the picture. The TV is right above me and the camera...I couldn't get them to look at me for anything, let alone smile.


Also I think Max is starting to teethe (not sure if I have spelled that right as it's only recently a common word in my vocabular) as he pretty much gnawed my index finger raw this evening during one of his fits. It did calm him down but man he can bite hard and of course slobber gallons during the gumming. The problem is he still doesn't really grasp holding things and putting things in his mouth real well, so the teething toys that we have don't really work for him yet. Therefore my finger will continue to be bruised and wrinkled for awhile yet.

Here is a picture of tummy time. We actually had to place his elbows under his chest so he could figure out how to hold his head up. He is by far the most active baby I've ever seen on his back, but he's just not getting the tummy thing.
